Presented by Paediatric Dietitian & Mum of 3 Cathy Monaghan @weaning.ie
Cathy is a Mum of 3 & Senior Paediatric Dietitian with over 15 years experience in CHI at Temple Street.
When it comes to weaning your baby, there are SO many questions!
Is food before 1 just for fun? Is cow's milk ok in under 1's? What is the best milk for over one's? Should I use wholegrains? Which yoghurts are best? What is a portion size? When is meat ok? What about salt? What pouches are best? How much milk does my baby need? Are rice cakes ok? My baby is constipated - Can you help?!
Cathy will answer all these questions and many more!
Cathy will also discuss:
The nutrients that your baby needs, the quantities and the best sources / The foods you are already eating and which are suitable for your baby and look at suitable finger foods / Food labels and food trickery/what to watch out for & commercial baby foods.
Issues such as fussy eating, constipation, iron deficiency anaemia etc. and how to prevent them will also be discussed.
Cathy believes weaning is an important part of your child's overall development. Getting it right sets a great foundation for their future health & relationship with food. This class will make food and family meals part of your parenting toolkit!
Cathy is a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute and registered with CORU (www.indi.ie and www.coru.ie). Price of class may be part-redeemable from your Health Insurance Provider.
